Q: Jerky mouse cursor on external 4K monitor (MBPr-13 Late-2013)

My question is pretty straight forward but after over an hour of Google-ing about this issue, can't find anything specific to it, nor any fix. Since all "jerky mouse cursor" is always related to Bluetooth and my mouse is just USB!

I just purchased an amazing LG Ultra 4K 27-inch monitor that I use as the main (and single) display on my MacBookPro Retina 13-inch (Late-2013) i7 fully loaded, the video card is the Intel Iris 1GB. The 4K monitor is connected through HDMI cable and my MBPr is closed (flap down) as I use it as a desktop computer by the day at work. The mouse is just an USB universal wireless mouse (not Bluetooth) from DELL brand, but anyway, the mouse is not suspicious since the issue appear only with the 4K monitor and work flawlessly with a 1080P monitor on the same computer.

My opinion is this probably related with the 4K monitor scaling/displaying or something like that, but I can't figure out how to fix it and it's VERY annoying. The mouse cursor isn't moving slower, it's like if it's blinking very very quickly and the movement isn't smooth at all, it's very jerky!!

I really hope there's a fix for this. Please help! :-)

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.3), i7 @ 2.8 Ghz, 16 GB, 512 GB SSD

Not knowing what else is running on your system it's difficult to say what the complete cause may be. Any 3rd party utility for either cleanup or network enhancements are the first thing I'd make go away on the system and I'd use the manufactures recommended uninstall procedures as many of these applications do not go away by dragging to trash. After that any security or Anti-Virus application should also be removed using the same manufactures recommend method.

In addition to that I would not call the "intel iris" fully loaded by any stretch of the imagination. This an integrated video display with 1GB capacity and that is shared DDR3 system ram. Video Cards common powering 4K displays have between 2-4GB of DDR5 dedicated RAM and it makes a significant difference. Integrated solutions are painfully slower.

If you turn down the resolution on the 4K and the mouse responds with fluid movement I'd consider the video card a possible bottleneck.
