Aug 12, 2016 12:36 PM in response to beckybeckyby JayB.,Hello beckybecky,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities to post your question. Although there are no specific guidelines for storing your shiny Apple Pencil, I would recommend keeping it stored safely just like any of your other Apple devices.
You can use this Apple Pencil Manual for some great tips on Safety and Handling of your Apple Pencil.
I hope this provides you with some good ideas on how to store it.
Have a great day.

Aug 12, 2016 1:09 PM in response to beckybeckyby K Shaffer,Some early Apple Pencil users advocated inexpensive chopstick cases.
These can include nice chopsticks, for a low price; bamboo looks great.

Other products may be made of plastic, nylon, or woven materials. Some
can be elastic and sort of rubber-band themselves to an iPad. A few are
magnetic and may stick on specific area of the iDevice case.
I like the idea of the free chopsticks included with the bamboo model.
Just in case the idea doesn't work out for Pencil, it's not a wash.
Good luck!
