Q: 27 inch iMac - no rechargeable keyboard!
OK. So my 2011 iMac had a dead fan and overheated. Time to upgrade, and after much debate, I went with the 27 inch variety. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my machine. It's a beautiful display and a great processor.
Here's the problem - after absolutely loving the idea of a having rechargeable mouse and keyboard, it turns out that mine does not. The model I was looking at (bought from an Apple store in Waterford, CT) had a rechargeable mouse and keyboard. I was offered a slightly better price on what the sales person called and EOL (end of life) model. I asked the differences, she looked at the two models, and stated there were no differences. Well, it turns out there is at least one - the mouse and keyboard come with standard disposable batteries.
As most of you know, the unpacking and setting up of these machines is a process ... so I was not about to try to repackage it because of this. But suffice it to say, I'm very disappointed that I ended with, essentially, a downgrade either because the salesperson didn't know or knew and didn't want me to know.
