Photos for MacPhotos is a new program and iPhoto 9.5.1 work flows do not necessarily apply - you need to take time to learn PHotos as it is a new and different program - not an upgrade nor a new version of iPhoto
For example in Photos All Photos is sorted by order added to Photos - on the initial migration this is somewhat random - -Photos view is in time/date order
for help in getting started see How Photos handles content and metadata from iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support and Photos 1.5 vs iPhoto 9.6.1: Features and Capabilities

Aug 12, 2016 1:29 PM in response to LarryHNby ThisUserHasBeenTaken,The links tell me about going from iPhoto to Photos, but I never even used the iPhoto application. I'm no genius on this. Like I said earlier, my phone and iCloud.com originally had "All Photos" in the perfectly correct order. My photos still have the proper dates, but once I setup Photos for Mac it moved photos that were clearly from last year to the front, then proceeded to sync with my iPhone and iCloud.com and further mess it up. I need a solution to fix or undo this.
