Oct 29, 2015 5:24 PM in response to plumdumplingsby Willliam,This is one of the shortcomings of Keynote—groups of objects always retain their proportions. There are probably several reasons for this from a product point of view (e.g. simplicity for novice users) but it's can be frustrating for advanced users.

Oct 31, 2015 7:45 AM in response to Willliamby Gary Scotland,I don't see this as a problem, its just how Keynote works; ungroup, alter an individual shape, then regroup is the accepted procedure.

Jan 8, 2016 9:38 AM in response to plumdumplingsby WrYBiT,Run into the same problem ....
Did anyone found a workaround for this UX bug?
How/Where can I submit a bug-report to Apple?
@Gray Scotland: No I don't wan't to change 50+ Elements, one by one. And than readd all the Group propertys, like e.g. animations.

Jan 11, 2016 7:36 AM in response to WrYBiTby Gary Scotland, scale grouped objects without constraining proportions
- click the group to select
- change the scale if needed
- ungroup (arrange > ungroup)
- Format > Shapes > Unite Shapes (the shapes are grouped and constrain proportions is deselected)
- click and drag one of the 8 handles to alter the proportions as required

Aug 13, 2016 10:46 AM in response to Gary Scotlandby John Driedger,Thanks for the work around below. This worked as expected in Keynote 5, so a simple behaviour should have made it into Keynote 6. I won't go into why, but I really need to shorten a collection of elements (all of them) in only one direction. Huge hassle not being able to do it. So thanks again.
