Q: Delayed Response/Out of sync

This problem has been going on for a while.  In both Logic Pro 10.2 and GB 10.1 my playing stops being in sync with what's coming out of my monitors.  I use a Mac Mini that I bought new last Christmas and run my guitar through a Fractal Axe Fx II which in turn feeds into the Mac Mini.  The guys over at Fractal say its software issue and nothing is wrong with my Fractal.  So does anyone know how to resolve this issue in both LP and GB?

Any suggestions would be nice.

The is the Firmware download page, make sure you are using the latest firmware for your hardware.

    http://www.fractalaudio.com/firmware-presets.php

Here is the drivers page, make sure you're using the latest frivers.

In Logic Preferences/Audio try a buffer experiment, set the I/O buffer to 256, are you monitoring through the Fractal?

If you don't need Logic's Effects why not disable software monitoring.

Can you post a screen shot of Logic's Preferences/Audio page?

I'll try experiment in the meantime and see if any of this fixes the situation.

Ok I tried all this and it almost seemingly resolved the problem but not quite.

I'm monitoring through my computer not the Fractal BTW.

I will say this once then I'm outta here...

    1. In Logic's preferences you have Recording Delay set to -5000. That it wrong, it should be set to the <0> Zero center position, ALWAYS!

    2. The Fractal is an expensive piece of gear with excellent Digital Converters... what in God's name would you use a $2 computer audio chip built into a noisy computer motherboard for playback?? Set Logic's output to the Axe FX II and plug in a set of phones or speakers.. and get some accurate playback!

Ok so I fixed that but naturally the problem persists....

I tried monitoring through the FX II in the past and that works fine but then I couldn't get my plug-in, which is EzDrummer to sound through the FX II.  Its essential to be able to hear your EzDrummer so I'm not sure what's going on there.

If I were to upgrade the computer audio chip would that make a difference?

If you Set Logic's/Preferences to use the Axe FX II as both an Input and Output device and then plug your speakers or headphones into the AXE FX you should be able to hear Logic's output... (EZDrummer) yes? (The AXE FX Docs say you can do this)  I suggest you sit down with the Axe FX manual and read how to use it as an audio interface.
