Q: [URGENT] Apple called me, this is normal???

Hi, I bought a macbook air and about 10 minutes ago I receive a call from apple to confirm the adress for shipping. The billing adress and the shipping adress are different, this is normal and did anyone receive the same call when buying anything?

When you have a bank card listed in your Apple account that

does not have a shipping and billing information correct to it,

the bank will usually can balk at paying for the item.

There are several links to Contact - Apple in this page:

    https://www.apple.com/contact/

Contact main online Apple Store directly; not through questionable

email. The online Apple Store portal for sales support may help.

Additional topic materials can be viewed following these links:

    • Identifying fraudulent "phishing" email - Apple Support

    • Phishing & Other Suspicious Emails:

    https://www.apple.com/legal/more-resources/phishing/

I'd look into my Apple information and see how those details appear

because most banks want addresses to be in line with their billing.

However the shipping can be different, if you so need to do so.

A scam is a possibility, so work around it by contacting Apple.

{For my Apple items, the billing is always different because the

Apple Store did not want to ship to a post office building where

a locked box exists; that is my mailing address. They use carriers

    who put boxes in the door step, in bad weather & have left them.}

Also, consider talking to your bank; if they have a problem with

your order from their point of view. Apple should be made aware

by contacting them directly, if you question validity of call or email.

Good luck in this matter !

Were you able to contact anyone at Apple UK main contact by phone?

How to Contact Us - Apple UK:

    https://www.apple.com/uk/contact/

Items include the following, from above page:

    Sales Support

Find all the information you need about your Apple Online Store order. To modify, track or return your order, or simply update your account info, just go to the Order status page.

For other enquiries, contact Apple Store Customer Service on 0800 048 0408. Lines are open Monday-Friday 08:00-21:00, and Saturday-Sunday 09:00-18:00.

The regional or country where an actual online or physical (official) Apple Store

is present, is usually the first step in resolving issues; since the ASC section

fields various questions from farther distance, & primarily is user-to-user help.

Sorry that so far this hasn't appeared to be of much assistance for you.

    Good luck!

My bet is that this is legitimate. If I ran the zoo, I might not have thought to institute such a "filter" - but Apple may have had past experiences where it pays to at least ask. If all they asked of you is "Is this correct?", what nefarious thing could anyone be up to?
