Q: Mac Pro Late 2008 will not charge.
Hi,
Mac recognises MagSafe and turns green. Yet only blinks orange for a few seconds then goes green. Battery will not charge. MagSafe works perfect on another mac pro. Same problem with different charger.
This problem began when I took my computer to a public library and plugged it in.
A power surge problem? A new battery needed?
I have followed a number of (dubious) steps to solve including SMC reset and firmware updates (not needed) Taking battery out. 'Resting charger' etc.
Any one have this problem? (I know its old yet runs very smoothly on El Capitan).
Here is battery details
