Q: Can I link groups in the timeline ?

Working with motion 5. Many many groups are in sequence on the timeline. I want to withdraw a specifique group and that the time cuted be filled with the subsequents groups.

That opreration is availiable and simple with Final Cut but I didn't find a way with motion 5.

Motion 5, iOS 9.3.4

Easiest way to deal with it is to open the Timeline pane, turn on snapping and command-select all the end groups together, then click-drag on one of the selected and move it until it snaps to the end of the group that ends at the gap.

You can in fact do Ripple Deletes in Motion.

    http://help.apple.com/motion/mac/5.2/#/motn130ac96d

    The keyboard shortcut is Shift-Delete.

Amazing! I wouldn't have even expected that of Motion...

Next to nobody knows the video editing commands that are in Motion.  Unless you took one of my classes.  LOL!

I have to laugh... I never would have considered to use Motion in that way. Nice to know though! Thanks! When I read through documentation, I cherry-pick through it looking for specific information. I had never seen that section before.

I hope you're doing okay during this flood! On this side of the Mississippi (Donaldsonville) we seem to be doing okay for the time being. (I still have no cell service though - ATT is out.) Everywhere I *used to live* at in BR is under water and I was there for the 83 flood and those same areas didn't flood then (even though the high water did make to my driveway... then.) This event is stunning!

Yeah, we're just outside of BR, and we're dry and safe.  But all around us are flood zones, many of which have never flooded before now.  We were trapped in for 2, almost 3 days.  But we stocked up on groceries and stuff and junk.  Schools are closed for the week, wife's work is closed for the week (works for state downtown BR).  Yes sir, this is a first, they're calling it a "once in ten thousand year event".  Totally mind blowing...

I've gotta tell you, when I didn't hear back right away, I feared the worst — the way all the "pictures" look, it doesn't look like it was possible (and I originally thought you were still in the Hammond area)! I'm glad to hear that you had luck this time and that your still high and dry!

There was some flooding here in town...the result of the initial flash flooding from the 14 inches of rain the first day... nothing on the scale that occurred on the other side of the Mississippi from the rivers and backwaters. On the first day of the rains, the water came up the driveway. This is an old town and most of the "historic section" of town is built above land on pillars and was mostly constructed before there were levees and some flooding was taken into account... but I'm sure nothing like what has just occurred!
