Q: The "Use Rescue Email Address" link does not work

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.

You will need to show patience with the procedure and be prepared to demonstrate without question that the account belongs to you. Don’t expect access to be restored immediately and if you aren’t the owner of the Apple ID registered to the device the account won’t be reset.

I just encountered this issue.  I'm guessing it will take months or years to fix.

Then I hope you don't make your living by guessing.

If apple fixes the issue by Sept 21st, 2016, I will come back and congratulate them.

There is no issue to fix.

I just confirmed again that the "Use Rescue Email Address" link does not work in the popup window titled "Too many incorrect verification attempts".  No rescue email is sent.  Either apple needs replace the link with "CALL US" or fix the issue.

And I've confirm previously it does. If you don't receive it you need to find out why instead of waiting for a fix that isn't coming since it isn't needed.

What is the behavior of the process?  Do you receive any feedback that the link click worked?  Such as "EMAIL SENT".  Or do you not receive any feedback on the site?  The only feedback is email received?

I Don't recall, I only know I received the email. Others have said they haven't received it but many have later found them in the junk folder or removed in some other way

Ok, I totally believe it previously worked.

I am saying now, today, as of 2 hours ago, it does not work.

I checked my junk folder and there are no emails there.  I will try creating a new dummy account and try the recovery process using a yahoo.com email account.  My current rescue email address is a hotmail.com email address, so maybe it is a hotmail issue.

Same Here. It does not work. Tried in firefox and ie. my junk folder is empty.

Same issue here using both Safari and Firefox.  Click the link and nothing happens at all. No error, no message, no email... nothing.

But the Cancel button works... so that's something.

I have the same problem.

This Winston Churchill guy is being arrogant and is no help.  He is suggesting that because it works for him there is no problem.  There IS a problem.  The link does not work for (obviously) a lot of people.  And NO it's not in my junk folder.

I'm confirming that the link does not work. There is no indication that an email was sent and I have received NO such email. The cancel button works as some have said.
