Q: Why won't my mac won't play music in iTunes?
I am on iTunes 12.4.3.1 and no sound will play. I click on play and the audio symbol appears next to the sone but no sound and the progress bar does not move. I have checked the audio settings and volume levels. All the similar questions seem to be a long time ago or refer to Pc's. What could be causing this. It seems to be intermittent.
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

- If it is repairable reinstall the OSX

- If you do not have a backup use disk utility to restore the internal disk to an external disk so you can try to recover data.
Then format the startup disk and do a fresh install of OSX
