Q: Clone old mac to new mac

Can someone give me step by step instructions to clone my old mac to my brand new mac so it automatically recognizes all the devices (NAS, Printer, Time Capsule, etc.) that my old mac did. In other words, I want my new mac to work exactly like my old one - except of course that the new one will be better and faster.

Thanks.

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

the best way to approach the connection with 3rd party devices is use the drivers for your new machines OS from the developers. the two systems may have discrepancies between them and simply forcing the old system settings on the new system is a guarantee they will take and function as you would like them.

Migration assistant/Time Machine may work for some of this, but if if fails you will need to get the correct software for your new systems OS.
