Q: IN NEED OF BIG HELP!!! CHAAOS!

Hi guys!

I'm desperate in need of help with my macbook pro mid 2012...

Here's the situation. I tried to bootcamp and it got stuck on the setup. My bad here was i didnt have the charger in and while it was stuck the battery was drained. So i charged my laptop and turned it on. It says no bootable device etc... i took out my ssd and whiped it out ... now when its pluged in it says bootmgr is missing pres ctrl alt del to restart..

The thing is i dont have OSx anymore.. even without my SSD installed it goes directly to bootmgr is missing... how can i restart all over and install OS X again? have been struggle for a few days now... And yeah i have tried to do reset pram and smc and all the other stuffs like hold the option and all the other combinations.. it doesnt respond..

I would be really thankful for all your help guys to solve this problem!

    Howdy Mealthon!

I can see where not being able to boot up the computer would cause an issue since I use mine frequently.  We can certainly take a look into the options for getting it back in working order since it tells you that the bootmgr is missing.

The first thing that we'd want to do is try to load it into Recovery or Internet Recovery.  If it'll let you into either one of those then you should be able to choose the option to Reinstall OS X. Check out this article here for the steps on how to do that: About OS X Recovery

If it won't let you into either one of those, then there's another option you can try.  Doing this option will depend on if you have another Mac there to use and also how comfortable you feel with the instructions in the article below.  If you are able to do that, then you can boot from that drive and then format/install OS X onto your internal SSD.

Create a bootable installer for OS X

    Have an awesome day!

    Hi there Chris!

I've already tried all this stuffs.. I have used another macbook pro like min to install os x again on my SSD. I even changed the RAM of 4 GB so its new compared to the old ones..

STILL, with new ram and newly installed os x el captain on ssd it still boots up and it's white screen for about 20 seconds and then it changed to windows and show's now no bootable device etc..etc..

My mac doesnt answer any commands either

    IM STUCK!

Thank you for that information!  Since it still is showing a white screen and not any bootable drives, the best bet would be to see about getting it into an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.  To find the locations nearest you, check out this link:

    Find Locations

Just click on the option for Service and then put in your location and select Mac.  It'll show you all of the locations near you so that you can either give them a call or set up an appointment.

    Make it a great day!
