Q: I connected my Iphone 6 to my car using the correct cable and adaptor, however it won't play any music, I have tried numerous other Iphones which have all worked without a problem, could it be the settings on my phone or a problem with my phone

I connected my Iphone 6 to my car using the correct cable and adaptor. It will charge my phone, however when my car brings up a message state device error.

I have tried 2 other Iphone 6's which have worked without any problems.

Could it be the settings or a problem with my phone?

I have the similar issue too on my new Range rover 2015. The charging cable used is what i got with my iPhone 6 kit. Every other phone that connects to the infotainment system of my car works perfectly fine in iPod mode except my iPhone 6 , I get "Device Error".  Tried Reset factory settings, Updated software to the latest on available. I even got my iPhone replaced at an apple store. Still no go. This seems to be a restriction at iTunes account access level. r.

Appreciate any help to fix this error.

I have the got my working by cleaning the Iphone 6 port on my phone and it has connected and works everytime.

On my 2011 model I can not connect my Iphone into the USB, I had to buy a special cable from Land Rover to suit the old Ipod and then use the Iphone 6 adaptor from Apple £25, I don't know if that is the situation you are having on the later model Range Rover.

    Hope this Helps

    Thanks For the quick Response..

Well when you say cleaning the iPhone 6 port . is it the dirt present in the charging port you cleaned out. Mine's a new iPhone 6 I got two days ago. So i don't know if the port was causing any issue.

Also, i will try to contact LandRover. but I'm surprised how every other iPhone i tried to connect to my car using the same cable works perfectly fine except mine. I wonder there is some other setting or restrictions that is at the iTunes / account level which might be causing this error only on specific iPhones.

    Cheers.

Hi , I am no expert but my new iPhone jack stopped working within days and then I searched and searched to fix. A lot said it was dirty and suggested sucking, qtips, etc.. all no good.... and then after this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FphlXSXjxeQ  tt worked. It pulled out a 10mm ling fine line of fluff?!?!? Was it preloaded? I don't know but once removed my jack worked. FYI I posted youtube link here but it if is removed etc.. essentially take bobby pin, wrap with fine cello/sticky tape, reversed, sticky out, insert gently till end stops, and pull out gently. bingo!
