Q: Apple Music Family Plan - add on user does not see option to enable iCloud Music Library

My husband and I had been sharing an ID, but one night I tried to listen to music and got an error message saying that that another device was in use. So I decided to upgrade us to the Family Plan. He's accepted the invite that I sent to his email. His Apple ID is signed in. So now I have the primary account ID and his Apple ID is listed as a family member.

He isn't seeing the playlists, even though they are indicated as being "shared" on my devices.

When I go into Settings > Music on my devices, I see under Library a choice to enable iCloud Music Library. He only sees an option for "Genius" on his devices. He just upgraded his phone to iOS 9.3.4 (same as me)  - his iPad is one release back in the software (we'll be upgrading it soon).

We've tried rebooting the phone, and logging out and back in with his Apple ID. Nothing is working. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

    Hello LizJ-VA,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that your husband is not able to see your Apple Music playlists even though you have an Apple Music Family subscription. I like sharing music with my family members as well. With the Apple Music Family subscription everyone gets full, individual access to the Apple Music library, expert recommendations, 24/7 worldwide radio with Beats 1, and unlimited skips on all other curated radio stations.

Because everyone has individual access to Apple Music the playlists would need to be created by the individual on each device. This article has additional information on the features of Family Sharing.

    Family Sharing

The following article has the steps on how to share your playlist:

Use Apple Music in the Music app

Follow these steps to share the playlist with your husband:

Tap   to share a link to a song or playlist that you love. You can share it to Facebook or Twitter, send in Mail or Messages, or copy the link.

Once he receives the email or message, he'll need to click the link to download the playlist to his iPhone.

    Best Regards
