Q: How to define allowed size of email attachment (me.com account)

I recently missed an important email, because it was returned to the user with an error message. The email in question had an attached file of 11 MB. I suspect this might be the reason.

How can I check the settings for limit size of attachments for my mail account? I use the mail app that came with my iPad, and I have a me.com address.

iPad, iOS 9.3.4

Correct. 28MB is what icloud.com mail servers announce. If you're comfortable with mail administration, you can check for me.com MX records to find out who is responsible for handling me.com email. Then manually telnet to one of me.com mail servers on port 25 and issue SMTP commands (ehlo domain.com). If the server is set to announce the size, you'll see it responds with 250 SIZE some-digits.
