Q: deleted contact but it still shows up on keypad screen

I saved a contact in my phone two weeks ago and every time I pull up the keypad screen it appears, but then disappears.

I deleted the contact in hopes that it would no longer appear but it still does.

I ensured that it was deleted from icloud and it is.

not sure what else to do.

    2- Delete it from contact

    3- Go to Settings

    4- then Cellular

    5-Turn on "Cellular Data"

6-at the bottom go to "Reset Statistics" and Execute it

    7-close all  app

    8-clear all web from Safari

9-turn off your phone & open it again

    @iFranAir @abdulrahman yami

Gold that it worked for you. It is for some reason not working for me. Thanks for your efforts though. Will update if I can get rid off this issue. Contacted apple support and those guys are having no clue of any such issue.

    HI,

yeah finally it it worked for me. I repeated the same thing @abdulrahman yami did, thrice; didn't help. But then I again saved the no with the same name as it flashes. When it is saved, the no with the name below is displayed in the dialer pad (exactly the way it flashes). Without removing the no from there and letting it be exactly how it is, I went to contacts and deleted it. I came back to dialer pad and the no. with the name is still displayed. Pressed home and kept the task running in the background and went to settings and under mobile data I reset the statistics. Then closed all tasks and rebooted. And finally it was not there. Thanks for the help guys.

if in anybody's case, it is not working, just try not removing the no from dialer pad after saving it again and deleting from contacts. Just go to home screen by pressing home button and then do the necessary things in settings. Hope it would work. Thanks all.

Follow the steps mentioned by iFranAir and Abdulrahman, it works. Read the replies below and do accordingly, I am sure it would be gone. Good luck.

Followed these steps but didn't work. The number doesn't show when you first open the app. But when you minimize and maximize its shows up again

OK seemed to have solved it. I created a contact with the number and saved it. then I went to Settings Phone Blocked and blocked the number. no more ghost number.

    Hey guys

after doing months of research, and doing different solutions, found this and it really working for me.

    1. Open setting

    2. Go to Display and Brightness

    3. under Display Zoom find view

    4. change from standard to zoomed and vice versa.

    it will work

Had the same issue, this did the trick for me:

    • on your phone, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > View > Zoomed > Set
    • wait for phone to quick restart and apply changes
    • Settings > Display & Brightness > View > Standard > Set
    • wait again
    • >> phone app should not display random contact in dialer tab any more

Worked for me, iPhone 6 on iOS 9.3.3

Forcing the apps to close with the Home button trick worked for me! Thanks so much for the answer - I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what the heck I did!
