Q: Install system software between computers

I want to install system software on one computer by using another computer. I bought OS X 10.4 Tiger to install on 2 computers. It is the Family Pack retail version. I tried to install on iMac G4 (Snowball) by choosing the option erase and install new system. So, it erased but there were disk errors and would not install OS X 10.4. I checked the hard drive with disk utilities and there were no problems. The error message pointed to the dvd installation disk. The iMac has no system now and won't install from the dvd. I am guessing there is something wrong with the optical drive on the iMac. I have a G4 which is also getting the upgrade to 10.4. If the upgrade runs smoothly and I am successful with that can I use the G4 (connect via Firewire ports) to also install the system on the iMac?

I got it. I think. I installed the software on the G4 Power Mac with no problems. I think the erase and install method somehow caused the problem with the disk errors on the iMac. So, I connected the two computers via firewire and using Target Mode on the iMac. I am now erasing the hard drive on the iMac with disk utility on the System dvd and then I will attempt to install the software on the iMac.
