Q: My ipod wont charge and i don't know why

I recently started having problems charging my ipod. I cleaned the lint out of it and i charged fine for a few more days until it just stopped charging. There is no lint in it and its not the cord because it works on other people Iphones.  It wont charge but if i turn the power off and plug it in it will turn on, like its charging.  Does anybody know if i scratched the charging port and broke it or if my ipod is just broken? Any help would be great.
