Q: How do you delete an e-mail folder in hotmail?

No, it simply opens that email folder in hotmail and shows you what emails exist in that folder.

To select the mailbox (which I did), I am then already in outlook mail (i.e. hotmail).  At that point I select mail again, but nothing happens, i.e. I simply go back to where I was before I selected mail.  I then clicked on everything else in sight with no (i.e. nothing happening) results.  I've been trying to resolve this for months, many months, now.  I always come to this dead end, i.e. where after selecting the mailbox, there is nothing I've been able to do to delete it.  I can see and open what's in the mailbox, but I can't get rid of the mailbox.  I've deleted all the emails that were in that mailbox but I still can't get rid of the actual mailbox.

Eric, Your last suggestion worked.  I am so grateful for your help.  It was very frustrating for such a simple solution.  I had gone to apple help but couldn't find a solution on their website. 

I thought I had sent you a reply earlier thanking you but I guess it didn't get through.  Again, thanks ever so much, much appreciated.
