Q: APPLE SSD SM0512F configuration - 499gig virtual disk?

Wondering if this is a normal configuration for a APPLE SSD SM0512F found in the late 2013 Macbook pro retinas

Just wondering why “disk1” is virtual. It’s capacity is 499gigs, it’s the last item in the terminal output.

Thank you!

cheers

JB

Here’s the terminal’s output of “diskutil info –all”
