Q: music app forgets its place

The music app seems to lose its place sometimes.

Seems to be associated with re-syncing the ipod itouch with

itunes; it doesn't happen all the time.

iTunes will remember the correct location, until the ipod is

reconnected a 2nd time - then the itouch reset location will

be copied back to itunes.

I'm tired of this irritating behavior - I listen to long tracks

(taped radio) & it's not helpful.  Any good alternative

apps?

iPod touch, iOS 8.4

An iPod may "forget" the place in a long passage of sound for several reasons. If you sync, the original place of a song resets. If you play another song, a previous song's setting will be lost. In other words, keep the player at the same place until you've stopped listening to the program, or note the time of the radio program.

"Taped" radio doesn't have special commands to save special settings - unlike podcasts or audiobooks.

Make sure the longer items in your library are set to remember their playback positions. See Get Info > Options.
