Q: How can I get pictures to display in filename order on my iPad?

I have about 800 images I use in teaching Kinesiology, and their filenames provide the structure (they are named by chapter then image number). How can I get these to display in filename order in "photos" on my iPad?

Secondly, how can I view the filename while I'm looking at the photos (so I can see where I am in the deck of 800, and also let students know what image I am referencing)?

I am sorry but there is no way of doing this. The iOS system is not currently capable. This article may help in explaining how iOS displays pictures. Order of Photos in iOS

The only other alternative would be to create an Album in the Photos App (there you can rearrange them manually) or use a 3rd party App. Neither will display the file names. You may need a MacBook to do what you want.

Thanks! Not what I wanted to hear, but very helpful. Any 3rd party apps you might recommend for this purpose?

Regarding your question, an experienced colleague here on the ASC uses Photo Manager Pro. I have not used it so I cannot vouch for it myself.
