Q: How do you change Administrator when you buy a used Macbook?
She is running OS X Yosemite on a Macbook and the previous owner's name keeps popping up in the Apple ID screen when she tries to update her software and she doesn't of course know his password so she can't update software. She has updated system preferences and has signed into iCloud with her own Apple ID; she is signed into iTunes with her own Apple ID but the field shows previous owner's Apple ID when she tries to update software and she cannot change it...any suggestions on how to fix this?
iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

This should have been done so you have to do it now:
What to do before selling or giving away your Mac - Apple Support
However, if the Mac cam with its original install disks or a retail Snow Leopard disk boot from that and format the startup drive and install the OSX version that came on the disk.
Then update as necessary.
