Q: Device Not Found, but internet working

I have a Airport extreme with a 2TB time capsule that I use as a file dump.

All of the sudden I cannot connect to the airport time capsule. When I initiate airport utility, there is an orange exclamation point/triangle that has the description "device not found". The router is clearly working, since I am connected to the internet (as we speak).

I tried to unplug the device and the time capsule comes back for about 2-3 minutes before the same problem occurs again. Soft and hard factory resets produce the same results. I know it is not my macbook pro, because it does the same thing on my phone as well.

I started having a similar problem about a week ago.

I opened the configuration page for my router, noted the IP address of my TC, then from the Finder did a Go-->Connect to Server..., entered the server address as afp://ipAddress, the admin password for the TC, and checked the "Remember this password in my keychain" checkbox.

I then opened the Time Capsule Preferences, clicked Select Disk..., and selected the IP address TC entry rather than the named TC entry, and the hourly backups have now been occurring regularly again.

Obviously this isn't a solution if your TC's IP address may change.

Well the TC could not be found and that's what I did to recover it back.
