Q: Problems Adding Yahoo Account to Messages

When I try to add my Yahoo account to Messages I get this message but the account is not added under Preferences-Accounts. Any ideas how I can add my Yahoo account to Messages?

    Hi dcwy,

There is a slight process is troubleshooting this little set-back. Hopefully, this should do the trick!

So, you need to sign into your yahoo account (using a web browser such as Safari)

Go to Settings > Account Security > Manage App Passwords (create a new password here)

Then jump onto the Mail app that is the default mail app on your Mac and it should request your new password.

Now when you open iMessage, this app should also ask for your new password or if you click 'available yahoo' it should ask for a password and you put that password in and it will work. Hopefully.

Please reply if this does not resolve the issue.

    Good luck!
