Aug 18, 2016 9:27 PM in response to CJSM12by gail from maine,If you had to reformat and reinstall everything on your Windows machine, you would also have needed to restore all of your files including the iTunes and Photo libraries. If those were not backed up before you wiped the PC, and you don't have a backup, then they are gone.
Not sure what Desktop Shortcut you are referring to?
Need more info on what was done.
Cheers,

The desktop shortcut for iTunes will only work if you download and install iTunes in the usual way. You should have backed up the iTunes folder inside your profile's music folder, along with any other data in your user profile that you want to restore after reformatting. Do you have that data?

Aug 21, 2016 5:19 PM in response to turingtest2by CJSM12,I downloaded from the Apple site. The shortcut works just logoless. I put a copy of the saved music file inside along with the other stuff in the new iTunes folder. But iTunes does not see any of it.

Aug 21, 2016 5:45 PM in response to CJSM12by turingtest2,See the image in Make a split library portable for an overview of what makes up an iTunes library folder. If you restored the whole thing to the standard path then it ought to work. Alternatively hold down shift as you launch iTunes and open the iTunes Library.itl file that holds your library.
