Q: How to determine the size of grouped emails

In Mail app on mac Ive grouped my gmail-synced emails by sender.  Ive discovered 10 senders from who I have more than 100 emails from.  So each of those 10 senders has more than 100 emails threads.

I would like to be able to somehow select all email threads from a sender, and see how much space those emails comprise.  Is this possible in mac mail?

    Hello there, santiagofrommiami!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are needing to get size information on specific email groups and threads. That's a great question! What you can do if you have each sender grouped to its own folder, right-click the folder and select Get Account Info. This will show you each folder, the number of emails in it, and the total size of the content of the folder.

    Cheers!

Well I can create a smart mailbox for that sender in Mac mail but when I right click and select get account info I get a window with the Gmail folders data, not for the newly created smart mailbox.

    Hi santiagofrommiami!

When you right click the information, you should see:

    Below that you should see:

On the right side, you should see the number of messages in the specific smart folder and then the size of all the messages in that folder.

    Have a great day!

Ok, the smart mailbox i created was in mac mail.  The folders showing up when i click account info are from Gmail.

Here you can see that info box with all gmail created folders and their sizes and to the left you can see the Nikolas smart mailbox created.  Nikolas smart mailbox doesn't show up in the size box.
