On your iPhone open the Watch app then tap General > Software Update
The Watch OS 2.2.2 update is available.
Please read the instructions here > Update the software on your Apple Watch - Apple Support
Then monitor the display.

That is not normal (under any software version).
I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch checked and to establish your available service options (which may include service under warranty or out-of-warranty service):
