Q: Home Sharing works on Apple TV, not on iPhone or iPad

Win 10 PC, iTunes 12.4.3.1

Apple TV 3rd gen

Apple TV 4th gen

iPhone 6

iPad 2

All with latest updates.  Have checked all the Home Sharing troubleshooting, restarted all units, restarted router.  PC hard wired to router, all others on strong wi-fi signal. AirPlay works fine from either IOS device to either Apple TV.   Bluetooth off on PC, both IOS devices turned on.

I am able to use Home Sharing from the PC to either of the Apple TV with no problem.   But music library does not appear on either of the IOS devices.    To make sure it was not a wi-fi signal problem I have tried connecting with the IOS devices 2 ft from the router.  Other than this issue, both IOS devices work fine.

As things stand, I have access to my music in the living room and family room, but would like to be able to listen via iPhone when working in the garage or yard.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think Apple may have removed sharing non Apple purchased music and movies from iOS. None of my iOS devices will connect to iTunes and share my CD's or home movies, but my Apple TV will without a hiccup.

    Thanks for the input!

My library is all non-Apple purchased.  I recently converted all my vinyl, tape, and CD stuff to digital, so none of it came from Apple.  Maybe i'll buy something and see if that works.

I went through that useless Home Sharing support stuff so many times I think I have it memorized and tried every trick I knew to make it work.  Funny - one time I got part of my library on the iPad, and was able to play a song for a couple of minutes before it all went away.  Never was able to make it connect again.  Almost as much fun as dealing with Microsoft!
