Q: How do I get my iphone to connect to Itunes with USB cable ( Mac ) ??

My iphone has not been able to connect to the mac for around a year now by USB, but it can over wifi though.

Fault finding steps:

I have a new original cable & tried others to no avail, all software is up to date. I have done the "option, System Information, USB" but it does not show the iphone 6..

I have done a hard reset on the phone, reset the computer too.

Any ideas you have would be appreciated.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Your profile says you are running OS X 10.7.4. Is that right? if so, you have a problem because your operating system is too outdated to handle a newer iOS on your iPhone.

You should be running iTunes 12.4.3. But doing so requires at least OS X 10.8.5. (Current OS X is 10.11.6.)

Hi,

thats incorrect, I have the OS X El Captain ver 10.11.6, I think thats the newest..
