iPhone

Q: computer wont connect with iphone

I would like to backup iPhone to my MACPro before I download the new OS update.

 

I have connected my phone to my laptop. iTunes state " cannot connect to iphone."

 

iPhone is buzzing non stop.

 

What's up?

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.3

    Reset your iPhone and restart your Mac.

     

    Reset: hold down the Home and Power buttons until you see the Apple logo (10-20 seconds).

    You're asking us to guess a whole lot about your situation.  You should tell us instead.

     

    • "... before I download the new OS update."  Update to what?
      • Your iPhone?  If so, what version is it currently running?
      • Your Mac?  If so, what version is it currently running?
    • What version of iTunes is your Mac currently running?

    You need to answer sberman's questions first but let me guess, a mistake on my part perhaps. The current version of iTunes is 12.4.3 and my guess is that you likely do not have it. What version shows up on iTunes > About iTunes?
