When I plug my iphone in to my MAC, Iphoto automatically pops up. It only has the date range 3/29/2016-current date and I need to import photos from before 3/29?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:

    - What version of iPhoto.

    - What version of the Operating System.

    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.

    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?

    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.

    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Hi, I've the same query as vboyer from May this year.

I've 6 months of photos (I've been travelling) on my iPhone 6 and want to download to an old Mac OS X snow leopard. The Mac &  iPhone respond to each other but iphoto only lets me download the past two weeks. I've my photos backed up to the iCloud but also want to download them onto my Mac so I can delete off my devices. The version of iPhoto on my Mac is 6.0.6. The fixed data range problem wasn't there when I first uploaded snow leopard in Sept 2015 (the Mac is an 2004 model!and still going strong).

    Can you help?

    Thanks

    Ali

Your version of iPhoto predates your phone by nearly 10 years, so it's always going to be a mismatch. Try use Image Capture, in your Applications Folder, to access the material.

Thanks, i appreciate I'm mixing old and new, image capture is still only seeing the past two weeks of pics. I've down loaded them onto the Mac and deleted these off my devices but image capture is not recognising the previous weeks/months.

Sorry to to ask for more help, it's just that understandably the youngsters in the apple stores can't help, are there any other options to getting the images off my iphone & iPad without loosing them?

    much appreciated

    Have you edited these pics?

A few of them, I have over a thousand. Would the answer be to somehow down load them from the iCloud to the Mac & deleting them off my devices?

iPhoto will only import images from the Camera Roll, not edited ones.

The Cloud route won't work with 10.6.

Can you email them to yourself?
