Q: enable or disable enhanced notifications.

Hello. I have the latest MacBook running OX El Capitan. I keep reading in the forums about people having difficulty with enhanced notifications but every one has a link to the apple page that just says what they are. I haven't seen anything that shows you how to enable or disable them? Can someone please help me figure that out?

Thanks

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

    Hi cbgl,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Supple Communities. It looks like you are wanting to know how to enable and disable the enhanced notifications.I have a Mac as well and I like to have my settings a certain way. I will be happy to help provide some information on this.

Per this article, Enhanced notifications that can wake your Mac, it appears that the settings are built into certain newer Macs.

Your MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015), and MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015) and later can get enhanced notifications that wake it from sleep.

Also, works when certain settings are met.

    Requirements and settings

Notifications work on wireless and wired networks. They also work when you're connected via a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter, or connected to ethernet via an Apple Thunderbolt Display.
The Notifications pane in System Preferences controls most notifications. To learn more, see Mac Basics: Notifications keep you informed.
Note that the Do Not Disturb feature disables all these notifications except for Find My Mac.

    Have a great day!
