Q: iPad App Store won't allow program

I just bought an iPad 9.3.3, for traveling & I have Lion on my desktop, most is synced. [many problems with Mavericks] But:

     1. I have a 3rd party program on my desktop, iFamily for Mac, but the iPad won't download it - message says:

"Download Failed, Safari cannot download this file"

At the Apple Store, genius said I had to get it through the App Store, but the App Store doesn't have it, I've tried every which way to get it. nada, So, back to iPad to download, same old same old.

     2. Mail is waco. On my desktop, when I put some mail as Junk, it stays that way. Every time that mail comes in, it goes directly to the Junk box - But NOT on the iPad. I get the same "junk" daily, in the regular inbox. [98 in 1 day, sometimes 200 + of 'em.] In fact, when I "move" stuff to junk it doesn't move… at all. So I have to trash it again & again. [several times for several accounts.]

What's with iPad & App Store? I feel like I was robbed.

Any ideas? Genius & "helpers" at the store didn't / couldn't resolve either issue.

OK Diana, but why would I or anyone want 3 E-mail addys? I don't spend my days on the computer, Email, social media, etc.

No one is suggesting you have more than one email address. Diana is suggesting a different email app that may work better for your than the built in app.

One very good reason for having a second email address, by the way, is to use for any commercial transactions. You use that email address whenever you shop online. That way, all those receipts, special offers and the like are still available but don't clutter up your regular email.

I have several email addresses: my "real" one I only use for friends/family; one "throw-away" address for sites where they want my address, but really have no need for it (meaning they will spam me and/or sell my email address); one for purchases or other financial transactions; and one for all things Apple. All of them (except for my "real" one which is tied to my ISP) are web based email providers such as iCloud, Yahoo, etc.

    Meg St-Clair & babowa,

Thanks but no thanks for your input. I got my answer earlier, & I wasn't asking about either of these.

Well, actually you did, but not to worry, I just added you to my "no need to try to help" list. We are all volunteers here spending our time to try to help other users and try to abide by the ToU which you might want to read:
