Jul 17, 2013 11:57 AM in response to Mro29by MemphisBill,★HelpfulI just posted the same question!
I called Directv because I came across the message "you do not have HBO service", but I know that I do.
I verified that HBO is working on my directv, and I called directv to ask.
After a long wait/discussion with directv tech service, they told me that they are aware of the problem and are working on it.
So far, nothing seems fixed.
I clicked on other providers (ATT, Cox, TimeWarner, etc.) to see if they would direct me to a username/password challenge, and they all did. With directv I only get a black box -- as if the communication link between HBOgo and directv is severed.

Aug 8, 2013 10:35 AM in response to Mro29by IpadinParadise,Well, I have this same issue this morning. I have not had this problem since activating it when apple and directv first agreed to this back in May. But directv tells me this morning this is down for all their customers and they are working on it. So it's either a crappy service that goes down a lot or its their standard answer to get off the phone.

Apple TV > Settings > General > Restart
then Activate HBO GO
It worked for me.

Aug 20, 2016 7:08 PM in response to Mro29by BobFairfax,Same problem for me. HBOGO thinks my Cox account isn't subscribed to HBO. However I signed in to HBOGO.com on my computer, then used HBOGO.com/activate and successfully signed in. Weird, I know. But whatever works.
