Aug 21, 2016 11:13 AM in response to lifeofguenterby Michael McCranie,★HelpfulThe good news is that it isn’t a virus. This process was created by Apple and runs along side iTunes to provide mobile device support. I would just try and force quit the application. http://www.groovypost.com/howto/distnoted-exe-process-running-background-safe/
Alternatively you can try going here ..Step by Step to fix your Mac
Hope this helps, best of luck to you.

Aug 21, 2016 1:39 PM in response to lifeofguenterby Eric Root,★HelpfulTry running this program and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
