Q: iphoto help

I took a screen shot from a video and want to add the screen shot to my album in iPhotos, but iPhoto will not allow me to add it, what should I do?

MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Screenshot default format is TIFF so try reformatting the screenshot.

 

 

Open the Preview app.

 

From the Preview menu bar click File > Open then navigate to the screenshot then click Open.

 

Then go to the Preview menu and click File > Export.

 

Click the Format pop up menu then select JPEG then click Save the move that image to the album in iPhoto.

    For future screenshots which you may want to use in iPhoto or elsewhere the following will let you change the format of screenshots to jpegs:

     

    Change Screenshot File Type

     

    Paste the following command in the Terminal application window followed by the Return or Enter key:

     

    defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg && killall SystemUIServer

    Now all screenshots will be jpegs.
