Aug 17, 2016 12:01 PM in response to tom2leeby tom2lee,Hello,
-Research the fourth day!
Accuracy: I just changed the internal battery of the Raid card.
-My three internal drive worked perfectly for a week in Raid 0 easy storage
Then I tried to install VMware as everyone knows ... VMware is unable to detect a raid volume on this xserve. So after some unnecessary testing on VMware and return on OSX here's what happens:
If I boot on the DVD installation disc, the utility "Raid utility.app" said: "No raid card is not installed on this system" !!!
If I boot from an external USB drive on OSX 10.6 or 10.7 or El Capitan, and then I run "Raid utility.app" The message is: "Waiting for the Raid card..."
...So, I tried to wait two days in this configuration, "Waiting for the Raid card..."... Hoping that the raid card would be busy making the RAID0... ?? Same message two days later !!!
-Needless to add that diskutil nor raidutil.app are absolutely useless since no disc or raid interface are detected.
I'm not an expert so if a charitable soul could help me ?? I would be so happy to not go crazy.
I never installed the raid system on this xserve and the Raid implementation utility.app always worked and helped manage the raid volumes.
Is it not possible to re-install this application (Raid Utility.app) ??? What is that ???
Thank you. Have a nice time.
