I had to verify my billing information. Go to your account info on itunes and type in the 3 digits on the back of the card you have on file.

Please try this step first before trying the steps on the previous page. This was the easiest fix for me.

I HAVE A NEW PC LENOVA YOGA.  I BOUGHT A SONG ON ITUNES AND THEY WANTED UPDATE ON CREDIT CARD INFO.  I GAVE IT AND PURCHASED SONG.  TRIED TO BUY ANOTHER SONG-AGAIN THEY ASKED ME FOR UPDATE-I GAVE SAME INFO AGAIN, CLICKED ON DONE AGAIN.  WENT BACK TO PURCHASE SONG AND SAID ERROR 5105.  HOW DO I GET RID OF ERROR 5105 AND  IF IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH UPDATING INFORMATION ON CREDIT CARD-HOW DO I GET THEM TO ACCEPT THE UPDATE I MADE INSTEAD OF HAVING TO ASK ME EACH TIME AND PUTTING IN SAME INFO EACH TIME.

This is the solution that solved the problem for me.
From what I've been reading on several sites, it has to do with a corrupted installation of the needed software components. You may not think you have one, just like I didn't, since I had only recently installed everything afresh. But I had been cleaning unused drivers and stuff and I may have occasionally deleted some necessary file.
After removing everything (I used IOBit Uninstaller and it worked for me), then doing the reinstall as prescribed above, everything worked fine. I am a happy app downloader now.

I've just had this same problem and thought it was because I had just updated to Windows 10. I used one of the previous answers, which worked instantly.

Close iTunes and then reopen by running as administrator.

I had this problem for a long time and finally decided to find out why my pc versions always had issues regardless of reinstalling, refreshing the pc and etc.  I tried putting my itunes.exe in the web exclusion in my malwarebytes and i didnt get anymore internet issues.  I couldnt believe it....

    MALWAREBYTES

    WIN 10 x64

    ITUNES x64

I would suggest if you have any internet protection.. try adding exceptions for everything.

bringit2tony's suggestion worked for me, too. The first time I got the error 5105 message is when I opened iTunes after downloading Windows 10. As soon as you go to your billing page there will be a red X in the block where your security code should go. Type it in. Then click "Done." When it takes you back to the main account page, click "Done." Close iTunes, then reopen it. You should be able to download again.

What worked for me was installing QuickTime Player via Apple Software Update. Using Windows 10 x64.

No need to uninstall iTunes or disable any service !!

All u need is to reinstall the previous setup u downloaded or download a new one then when it starts to install , setup will ask to repair or remove iTunes .

Now choose repair and when it Done open iTunes to see every thing is working like a charm , no more 5105 error !
