Aug 22, 2016 5:59 AM in response to PinkGirl101by OGELTHORPE,First make certain that you have emptied Trash.
If the information is being garnered from the display in 'About this Mac', be advised it may very well be incorrect due to a bug in the program that generates the display.
For accurate information, download from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all of your files and the respective sizes.

Aug 22, 2016 2:16 PM in response to PinkGirl101by OGELTHORPE,As I indicated in my initial response, that display often is incorrect. Sometimes, but not always, a Spotlight reindex will correct it:

Unfortunately, the information on that display is not to be trusted, hence my recommendation of OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective.
Ciao.
