Q: Macbook air trying to connect to nonexistent Bluetooth keyboard

My macbook air has been frequently freezing during use so I have been completely powering down the computer, when I restart it, I'm prompted with the login page, the mouse is still frozen and when I type in my password, nothing happens on the screen.

Then a window pops up that says my computer is searching for a bluetooth keyboard and eventually says that it cannot find any devices. I'm not using any bluetooth keyboard, just the keyboard physically on my laptop.

Has anyone ever had this issue before? I have not found a solution yet and usually I just keep shutting down my laptop for a few hours and then restarting again until both my keyboard and mouse work on the screen.

It sounds like the built in keyboard is beginning to fail. If a Mac can't detect a keyboard connected, it will automatically begin scanning for a bluetooth keyboard.

I'd make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store and have it checked out.
