Q: I got a brand new MacBook as a gift, but it's the wrong one!
just got a brand new Macbook as a gift for my birthday but I got the wrong one :/ I wanted the MacBook Pro 13" which essentially is the same price as the one I just got (silver 12" MacBook) I was wondering if i could go to the Apple Store and see if I can exchange it for the right one. I have the receipt and haven't opened the box or anything. Not quite sure what Apple's return policy is since I didn't buy it and it was a gift. Help!
MacBook, iOS 9.3.4

Maybe. The return policy is 14 days. If it wasn't opened, you may be able to exchange it even after that, though. We're customers and users just like you. We can't speak for Apple. Take it into the store along with the receipt (assuming it was purchased from Apple) and see what they say. If it was purchased from another retailer, you'll have to take it to the retailer it was purchased from. Apple can't exchange it at all if it was purchased elsewhere, opened or not.
