Let's see if I have this right......the AirPort Express was working fine before......and the only change that you made was to install a new Xfinity modem.....so that makes Apple responsible for the problem?  Nice support from Xfinity.

    A few questions:

What is the make and model number of the new modem that Xfinity provided?  We do not need a serial number.....only the manufacturer name and model number.

Does the new Xfinity modem provide a wireless signal? If yes, does it use a network name and password that is different from your "old" modem?

Can you connect to the Xfinity wireless now and get a good Internet connection on your iMac?

Anytime you change networking hardware or ISPs, it is always a good idea to perform a complete power recycle of that equipment. Check out the following AirPort User tip for details. Please post back your results.

Yes, it was working before, Yes on same network reset all to same network.  Arris is the name with Wifi of Comcast Router.  Time Capsule works with it, just not my Airport Express ... It is 6 months old.

    Thanks.

Thanks, but unfortunately, you did not mention a Time Capsule at all in your first post, so that changes things.  Additional clarification on some details will be needed.

Sorry for the questions, but we really don't know any more about your setup than you can tell us.

We understand from the new additional information that you have a Time Capsule that is working correctly now, and that it is providing a wireless network signal at this time.

Will the AirPort Express connect to the Time Capsule wireless network, or will the AirPort Express connect to the wireless network provided by the new Xfinity modem/router?

Or, does the AirPort Express connect to either the Time Capsule or Xfinity modem using a wired Ethernet connection?

Thanks so much for your reply.  I think its just a bad APExpress.  Blinks amber!  I have moved it downstairs as well.  No signal...

Yes, Time capsule is working, my AE was my wifi for upstairs.  Now I have Time Capsule and Arris modem for wifi, both downstairs sitting next to each other.

No wifi upstairs which is where I use it. Sigh.

I have not tried to move time capsule upstairs and let it be my wifi. it is hard wired into cable modem now.

Afraid I will lose everything if I do.
