Q: Cannot install operation system (10.6.3) on 2007 MacBook Pro.

Hi everybody!

Since my Macbook Air drowned, I got myself a used MacBook Pro. The previous owner completely wiped everything off so there's no operating system, when starting it only shows the folder with question mark.

We're talking MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.4 15" Mid / Late 2007, A1226.

As far as I understand and from my extensive research, this machine should run Snow Leopard and even the latest Mac OS. Thusly, I bought a Snow Leopard 10.6.3 Install DVD online. When I start the MacBook Pro and insert the DVD, nothing happens. I tried all the combinations of Option Key, C Key, Command + R etc. It seems it's trying to read the DVD but spits it out again, then I get the folder with question mark agaon.

Am I missing something here? Am I pressing the wrong keys? I did not get the original install DVDs with the MacBook Pro and am hoping to get a recent OS installed.

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Richard
