Q: Share Adressbook items

I must be overlooking a detail, but I need a little push on this:

Since sharing agendas (subscriptions) has been possible and (later) since Cloudsoultions have shown up,I have hoped to be able to share (parts of) my adressbook with my wife for obvious reasons. I have tried subscriptions (can't find them), placing a file in the Cloud (don't know which), placing a file in the shared section of my computer (can't find a datafile) and hitting my MacMini with a rubber hammer. Nothing seems to help.

Does anyone know a Columbus' egg answer to this?

There is no way to share your Contacts short of subscribing to a CardDAV account and both logging in, or allowing them to add your iCloud account with just the Contacts selected. However, you can't share out just "parts."

As opposed to a separate CardDAV service, I suppose you could create another iCloud account which you share. Then, you could populate that account with the shared contacts, Notes, and I suppose the same email. Reminders can be shared via Family Sharing.

Thanks for your answer. It does not really work for me though, since I am a classic "Apple user".: I have never wanted to become too much of a specialist so I have always pursued the user friendly methods. I was just hoping (in vain apparently) that Apple would have recognised the need to share addresses, just as they have with calender.

Your answer tells me that I am right in supposing that there is no easy fix here.

Yes and no. I don't see how it is either difficult or non-GUI dependent to crate a new iCloud account for you both to share. You will see both sets of contacts in Contacts and it is all created and managed with a GUI.
