Q: fcpx audio

Inside FCPX, I switched the audio settings of a documentary I created from Stereo to Surround Sound in order to utilize the 5.1 sound system in a screening room for an audience. After the screening was finished, I then needed to switch the audio setting back to stereo for a different medium.

Here is my problem: Although the setting is in Stereo, the display is still showing the Surround Sound meters with just 2 channels working. How do I get the original Stereo display in order to view the peaks much more clearly?
