Q: Can I restore my phone I've set up with a new Apple ID from a backup that had an old Apple ID?

I've created a new Apple ID because my previous one was compromised.  I've already gone through the process of setting up my iPhone as a new iPhone with my new Apple ID.  However, when I plug it in to my Mac and start up iTunes, I'm asked if I want to set this up as a new iPhone or restore from a previous back up.  Can I restore my phone from a back up I created before my account was compromised?  Or do I need to continue as a new phone?  It would be a big help to get a lot of my settings back but I don't know if it's going to try to log back into my old Apple ID.
