Q: Mainstage - Losing connectivity mid performance

Hi guys,

I seem to be losing connectivity between my midi controller (m-aduio code 61) and Mainstage mid performance. I just lose sound and the warning message comes up on Mainstage saying the midi controller is no longer available. I'm currently connecting via USB which also powers the midi controller. I have to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable at the midi controller or laptop and then it seems to work again. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

MacBook Air, null

Try a different USB cable. A premium quality cable may be the solution. The connectors tend to have a tighter fit. Another alternative is to use an AC power supply and a USB MIDI cable, or connect via MIDI cable to your audio interface if it has a MIDI jack.

Thank you so much for your reply!

I bought an external power supply for the midi controller yesterday. I connected the midi controller to the laptop using the USB cable and it did not disconnect once in 2 hours, that is a first!

Seems like when the midi controller is powered through the USB and being used to transfer sound it's losing connectivity.

Once again thank you for your reply, it solved my problem!
