Q: 2011 MacBook Pro to be left inactive for 12 months + ... Any possible battery issues?

If I mothballed a 2011 MacBook Pro for say 1 year or more, should I get the battery removed, even though the machine is turned off?

Or can it safely be left in the machine for a long period of inactivity without fear of anything untoward happening?

It depends how you stored it. If I were in your position, I would turn it on. If it boots, check System Information>Power and see what the battery data display looks like. If ir does not boot, off to the Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation.
